Raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Avani is a photographer and filmmaker studying Film Production at the University of Texas at Austin. Her experience spans behind-the-scenes photography, student film sets, and freelance portrait work, with a growing focus in cinematography and writing as she works toward directing.

Avani is drawn to stories that explore the human experience. Beginning in photography and transitioning into documentary work has shaped her commitment to honesty in art - finding and capturing the feelings of life. Whether on set or behind the camera, she is inspired by the people she meets and their stories, continuing to center her work on the shared experiences that connect us all - our truths.
